In this Episode: Our guests, Julie Butler and Carlos Unda talk about a great Raspberry Pi project they did as a POC “Proof of Concept” to solve a problem a company had used much more expensive hardware and software to aolcw. Carlos and Julie (both students at Erskine College) talk about their amazing project to find out if a marble was “transparent” or opaque, basically would the marble pass light or not.

Lessons Learned: Windows IoT (Internet of Things) isn’t ready for prime time. A four node Raspberry Pi cluster is faster computationally than an $800+ Windows PC.

In this Episode: Phil Burda is our guest and he talks about what is involved in 3D printing and how he got his start, including the software needed and what exactly is used to print in 3D. At the time he bought his 3D printer, USB 2.0 was too slow to send data to the printer fast enough and it lagged.

Then we talk about Raspberry Pi and how Python is now the number one programming language taught in school in England and across Europe replacing French. Seriously.
