Episode 5: I’ll take a slice of Raspberry Pi (Part 1)

Editor’s Note: This episode wound up being 95% 3D printing and only 5% Raspberry Pi, so Part 2 will fix this.

My Raspberry Pi

Episode 5

“I’ll have a Raspberry Pi to go please” or “I’ll take a slice of Raspberry Pi”

In this Episode: Phil Burda is our guest and he talks about what is involved in 3D printing and how he got his start, including the software needed and what exactly is used to print in 3D. At the time he bought his 3D printer, USB 2.0 was too slow to send data to the printer fast enough and it lagged.

Then we talk about Raspberry Pi and how Python is now the number one programming language taught in school in England and across Europe replacing French. Seriously.

Episode 7: Hey Look, My Medical Records on a Barcode

Hey Look My Medical Records On a Barcode

On Episode 7 of the One-Off Technology Podcast:

Episode Title: Hey Look! My Medical Records on a Barcode

We talk about EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records). Why is EMR a good thing? Why is EMR a bad thing? We also talk about the risks to medical records AND Medical devices because hackers are targeting and why. Would you let them put a barcode on your body that presented your medical records? Or a chip under the skin? What about carrying your medical records on a USB thumb drive?
